Acapulco Nights 1960 — A Night of Glamour, Community & Purpose

CVIS Acapulco Nights 1960 event setup at Rancho Poco a Poco

Some evenings feel like they belong to the whole community. February 10th was one of them.

Rancho Poco a Poco had the honor of hosting the annual CVIS Scholarship Fundraiser — this year themed "Acapulco Nights 1960" — a night of vintage tropical glamour, great food, live music, and genuine Sayulita heart. The estate was filled with colorful dresses, bold prints, Hawaiian shirts, and the kind of warmth that only comes when a community gathers for something that truly matters.

Guests arrived to a welcome drink by the pool, catered by Don Pedro's Restaurant, with appetizers, a full dinner, and desserts flowing through the evening. DJ Azul Darío kept the energy alive from cocktail hour all the way through the dance party. Live and silent auctions added to the excitement — and to the cause.

That vintage VW Beetle parked at the entrance — surfboard in back, welcome sign on the door — said everything about the spirit of the night. Classic, charming, and unmistakably Sayulita.

About CVIS & the Scholarship Program

Costa Verde International School (CVIS) is Sayulita's ecological, bilingual, community-oriented school — educating children from preschool through 9th grade with small class sizes, hands-on learning, and a deep commitment to sustainability and cultural inclusion.

Every peso raised at Acapulco Nights goes directly to the school's scholarship program — providing tuition assistance to local Mexican students who would otherwise not have access to this extraordinary education. The scholarships open doors for Sayulita children, empowering them with language, confidence, and opportunity. CVIS teachers and staff were on hand throughout the evening sharing more about the Adopt a Scholar initiative and the students whose lives are changed by this community's generosity.

We are deeply grateful to be part of a community that shows up like this — year after year, dressed to the nines, dancing and giving and celebrating together. This is what makes Sayulita unlike anywhere else.

Support CVIS & the Scholarship Program

The scholarship program is 100% funded by donations. If you weren't able to make it to Acapulco Nights — or if you'd like to give more — you can donate directly through Niños del Sol Inc., CVIS's US-based 501(c)3 nonprofit. Donations are fully tax deductible.
